Resolutions?

Since today is New Year's Eve, I suppose I should have a list of resolutions (like most people).

EPIC FAIL...

I have no list.
Not because I don't want to improve myself, but because I don't believe in resolutions.
People always seem to get wrapped up in the New Year's Resolutions at first, then they lose interest in them by March.
Not to mention the fact that what seems important to change this year might be the least of your worries next year.  Bigger, more important things might come along that should be addressed first.

So, instead of talking about resolutions, I'm going to talk about things that happened this year:

I worked at a law firm

I started teaching piano lessons

I learned how to weld

I went to my first NHL game

I bought a new Coach purse

I got my first "thinking of you" flowers

I showed all the men up at the gun range

I had heart surgery (I don't recommend you try that one--it's HORRID)
I threatened a nurse
I had my first experience with catheters (again, I don't recommend it)
I immediately started work two days after surgery (huge mistake)

I turned 21

I got a new Coach purse

I dyed my hair brown

I went to Jamaica
I got hit on by creepy Jamaicans

I watched EVERY episode of "The Office"

I went to Nashville to see Erin

I got a new diamond ring

I became a foster mom

and

I graduated college

Whew! I think that's it, but I'm sure I'll think of more things and add them later! ha ha

Happy New Year!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday, Edition 1

I've decided to start a new blog series called "Awkward & Awesome Thursday" since my 30 Posts of Truth series is fixing to end.
I got the idea from another blog, which I religiously read.

Awkward:

1. The word awkward...it took me forever to learn how to spell it correctly! ha ha

2.  The way my dog chews on my underwear.  Can you say disgusting?
Needless to say, my new underwear are now on lockdown.
What's even more awkward is when someone shows up at your door and you didn't realize the dog had your underwear laying all over the living room. AWKWARD! ha ha

3.  Skirt wedgies--you know you've seen them.
There is a girl who sits in front of me at church who always gets them.

4.  The inevitable PDA couple.
You'd think you could go to at least one movie without sitting next to one of these couples, but no such luck.

Awesome:

1.  The way you feel when you buy new jewelry or a Coach purse (unless you're a guy--if you get giddy like a little school girl at the thought of this--you might be gay).

2.  When a 3 month old baby laughs at you.  Just warms your heart :)

3.  When you find money in a coat pocket from the previous winter, or find a stash in your car.

4.  Wii Zumba.
It's an amazing workout! I did a belly dance and salsa last night. lol

Headlines, Edition 3

One of my friends works the return counter at Wal-mart and she posted this picture on facebook.
I wonder why someone would return this shirt?

Definitely headlines material!

You have to look very closely to get it--it took me a little while. lol

New Home

Roxi, my shih-tzu, needs a new home.
For only 50 cents, she's yours!

She tends to chew on underwear,
eat poop (on occasion),
and chew up your favorite pair of silver flats.

I'm truly heartbroken and angry about my shoes.  However, I'm only semi-serious about getting rid of her...
Please don't take me seriously and believe you can really have her for only 50 cents. lol

Handi-woman

Contrary to popular belief, I am quite handy to have around.
I've already proved I can weld.
This post will prove that I can build anything, with the help of my handy power tools.

Pre-project photo:

*Please ignore the dogs in the center of the photo (they have to be in the middle of everything). The purpose of this photo is to show the cabinet pieces and my power drill :).  This proves that at one point, the cabinet was not put together.

Post-project Photo:

*This shows the fully constructed cabinet with functioning doors.

This was my afternoon project.
I built it in a matter of hours, by myself, while caring for a 3 month old baby.
I'm legit!

And yes, that is an autographed Marty Standish bobble-head doll on my other shelf.

I Fa-LaLaLaLa-Love Christmas

I love the Christmas season.
Not because of the cold weather (which I hate).
Not because of the crazy crowds in stores (which I also hate).
And definitely not because of the greedy people who are currently waiting in line to return their gifts (which I despise).

I love the Christmas season because I LOVE Christmas movies.
They're always sooo cheesy (especially Hallmark and Lifetime made-for-tv movies), and that's exactly why I love them!
Our DVR is filled with Christmas movies year-round.

Here is a list of some of my favorites:
1. Boyfriend for Christmas
2. The 12 Men of Christmas
3. Christmas in Connecticut
4.  Christmas Cupid
5. I'll Be Home for Christmas
6.  The Ultimate Gift
7. Elf
8. Holiday in Handcuffs

*Notice "It's A Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Story" do not appear on my list.
This is somewhat because I've never seen them in entirety, but mostly because I refuse to conform and watch them. lol. I'm very stubborn.

Prompt #21: (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?

First of all, I would like to say that this is incredibly morbid and I hope it NEVER happens.

But, because it's just a scenario, here's what I would do:
1. Go into a slight state of hysteria
2. Start calling every hospital to find her
3. Immediately go to the hospital
4. Find her
5. Giver her a hug and tell her I'm sorry
6. Take time to breathe and probably break into tears, because I didn't have time to before.

Happy Holidays!

One Christmas down, one to go!
Not to sound selfish, but my presents were BOMB.
I got everything I wanted :)

I have been zumba-ing it up on the Wii, and let me tell you, it's hard! ha ha
I can feel the pounds escaping my body, along with my breath...lol

Anyhow, I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 20

Prompt #20: Your views on drugs and alcohol.

I think drugs are a complete no-no.
Their cons far outweigh their pros.

Alcohol is okay if you drink in moderation--Being drunk all the time is a sin and isn't attractive...at all. lol
On the other hand, I believe that underage drinking is completely wrong.

Ultimately, the Bible says "obey the laws of the land," meaning no underage drinking and no illegal drugs! That's what I abide by :)

On another note, do I have a "stupid" sign on my forehead?
People seem to think I'm gullible and will believe any lie they feed me--well I've got news for you! We live in a small town, I will always know when you're lying to me!  I'm a whole lot smarter than you apparently think I am!
Or maybe, you're just stupid enough to believe that I'll trust what you tell me...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 19

Prompt #19: Your views on religion? Or politics?

First of all, I think religion and politics should have nothing to do with each other.  Yes, I want a leader who is religious and believes in God. However, when "religion" gets pulled into politics and it becomes about what "religion" they are, mud begins to sling! lol

Secondly, I think religion is very important.
Everyone should have a relationship with God.
However, I will not sit here and tell you what "religion" you should be, so I will end it there.

Finally, I don't give a rat's behind about politics.
Honestly.
I'm not even registered to vote.
Go ahead, give me the "you should be an active member of society speech."
Not like I haven't heard it a thousand times.
However, I honestly don't care.
Most of the time, I don't like any of the candidates and I don't care to keep up with the campaigns in order to be knowledgeable on the candidates, so I just stay away from it all.
And because I know many of you are thinking, "you better not complain about the government since you don't vote," let me reassure you, I don't complain about it.
The only complaint you might hear out of my mouth is about how much I have to pay in taxes. lol

On another note, I finished my college career with a BANG.
4.0 in all 19 hours?  I'll take it!
I am finished with college, with a cumulative GPA of 3.72.
Not one C on my entire transcript!
Not too shabby :)

Today is the Day!

A new chapter in the Life and Times of the Intelligent Blonde starts today.

Today is the day that I will finally (I say finally like it's been a long time, when in reality, it's only been 3 and 1/2 years lol) graduate from college!

I will have a BS degree...everyone should have seen that one coming! lol.
Not quite the MRS degree that I originally hoped I would get...but this has proved to be so much better!

Unlike the MRS degree, my BS degree will...
instill a well-earned pride in myself
give me independence and the ability to support myself
and
start my future--a future that isn't dependent upon a man

What more could a girl need? :)

Lets just hope I don't trip on stage in my leopard print stilettos!
You know me, I always have to make a splash!

She's Got a Love Like Woe

The blog title has nothing to do with my post, but I really like that song.

Because of the massive amounts of studying I've been doing, I didn't have time to compose my Monday Lustday list.  However, I will post something just for you, my lovely readers :)

This is my graduation card that I will hand the announcer so she knows who I am and how to pronounce my name.  They instructed us to write our names out phonetically if our names were hard to pronounce.

So I did...twice.

So help me, if they STILL say it wrong, I just might hit the announcer over the head with her microphone scream!!

Headlines, Edition 2

Chickasha at its finest...

Live Nativity at Festival of Light:
LIVE characters from the Bible come ALIVE to demonstrate the meaning of Christmas including LIVE animals!

First of all, could they possibly fit more variations of the word "alive" into the sentence?
Secondly, I don't guess whoever wrote this knows how to use proper punctuation.
Finally, I'd like to know how they are going to get "live" Jesus to come down from Heaven to appear at said event...lol

Prompt #18: Your view on gay marriage

This is a touchy subject and I'm sure I'll offend someone, but I've always had strong opinions and I've always been brutally honest; you either hate me for it, or love me for it.

I don't believe in gay marriage.  I don't even believe in the gay lifestyle.
God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
Women were made to be partners for men--God didn't plan for people of the same sex to be together--that's Satan's handiwork.

I'm not judging gay people or condemning them to Hell--that's not my job.
I'm merely stating my opinions, and that's that I don't believe in gay marriage.

On another note...I graduate in 6 days!!!
I couldn't be happier to be free from school with nothing to do :)

"Sugar and Spice" by Lauren Conrad, here I come!

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 17

Prompt #17: A book you've read that changed your views on something

I don't know that I've read any books that have changed my view on something--my opinions are usually pretty unchangeable.
However, I will name two authors who caught my attention and got me interested in stuff I would have never been interested in before.

1. Albert Camus introduced me to existentialism.  Although he denies being an existentialist, he was (I even have a term paper to prove it).  His stories like "The Myth of Sisyphus," "Absurd Reasoning," and "The Stranger" got me interested in the whole "search for meaning/absurdity of life" idea.

2.  Elie Wiesel got me interested in the Holocaust.  His accounts of the Holocaust (specifically in "Night") are so enthralling.

If you didn't already know, books are very important to me.  I love to read, and aspire to have my own library one day (not a real library, but one in my house).
I was actually talking to mom about those digital books the other day and I told her I didn't want one, because I wanted to be able to physically hold the book. I'm weird, I know. lol

Monday Lustday Series, Edition 11

Today I am lusting over items that I bought on BF.
I got everything I wanted, and I love it all!

For instance,
my beautiful brown suede boots :)

And my awesome new diamond ring :)

My new DVD's make me happy too, but I'm not going to find pictures for all of them.

I have two thoughts to leave you with:

1.  Slatted Deck > New Stiletto Boots :(
Holes should not be where you walk...

2.  I really could care less about Bedlam and I'm sick of hearing about it.
I guess I'm just not a good Okie...

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 16

Prompt #16: Something or someone you could definitely live without.

Something I can live without is caffeine.
Although I have a lot less energy than I used to, I don't even crave caffeine anymore.

I've been clean for 20 months now.
Yes, I realize I just made it sound like I was an addict--I mean I only had like two pops a day, but still...lol

On another note, I got everything I wanted on Black Friday, plus some!
I got my gorgeous brown hooker boots, 9 DVD's, and upgraded my diamond ring.

Here's a picture of Cassie and I camping out at Target:

Andrew, Cassie, and I were waiting outside for over 7 hours!  We're serious shoppers.
We got everything we wanted and were back in bed by 6 am :)

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 15

Prompt #15: something or someone you couldn't live without, because you've tried living without it.

Most people would probably name a person who they couldn't live without, but I don't depend on people, so I'm not going to do that.

The thing I couldn't live without would definitely be sleep.
If I am lacking on sleep I get cranky CRAZY.

It works in three stages:
1.  I start zoning out.
2. I start laughing at everything and my sentences make no sense.
3.  I get angry--everything annoys me. lol

On another note, I bought a new camera today! I love it!

Also, I have my BF (Black Friday) plans nailed down--it's almost game day, baby!

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 14

Prompt #14: A letter to a hero that has let you down

Dear Lance Bass;

When NSYNC first became popular, I was immediately your fan.  While the other girls flocked to Justin, I adored you.  You had the perfect smile, perfect hair, and you were just so darn cute.  Not to mention, you could sing!  I bought your CDs the day they came out, I bought the Lance Bass doll, I had your poster hanging in my room, and I even went to your concert in Dallas.  I was in love--you were my first love.

My brother used to always joke that you were gay--he would mercilessly mock you, and force me to tears.  I avidly denied it and proclaimed your greatness.  One day, my world came crashing down; it was the day you came out of the closet to the public.  Andrew told me, but I still didn't believe him, I told him it was all lies.  I soon came to realize that Andrew wasn't lying, nor were the tabloids.  You were gay.  I no longer stood a chance with you because you were playing for the other team.  My heart was broken.

Thank you Lance Bass, for being gay and breaking my heart.  You shattered the dreams of a little, 10 year old girl.  You should feel proud.

Meanwhile, my gay-dar still seems to be broken....

Epiphany

As graduation approaches, I have been reminiscing about the past three and a half years.
For a lot of the memories, all I have to say is, "what was I thinking?!"

For instance:

I won't lie, after watching Phelps take nearly every possible gold medal in the Olympics, I found myself on the Phelps bandwagon.
I even remember saying I'd marry him--if he got his teeth fixed.

Well folks, it appears his teeth have been fixed, but that face just doesn't appeal to me anymore.
Michael, I don't care how many strokes you can do in a minute, or that you can do the butterfly like nobody's business...I no longer have any desire to marry you.

However, you better believe I will be cheering for you from my couch during the next Olympics.

I have many other "what was I thinking" moments, but because I'm never sure who reads my blog, I will refrain from posting them.

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 13

Post #13: A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough days (write a letter).

Dear Kellie Pickler,

Your songs "Best Days of Your Life" and "Red High Heels" have gotten me through some really tough days.

You quick wit and empowering lyrics have overtaken me at times.

I won't lie, after break ups, I generally crank "Best Days of Your Life" up in my car and belt it out at the top of my lungs.
It feels good to know (well, at least think) that a guy will regret losing you and will never find a girl as good as you.
He will especially regret losing you when he sees you in your red high heels, leaning on another guy.

Kellie, please keep producing amazing songs like these, because guys never cease to amaze me with their unending stupidity and I will undoubtedly be belting out your songs for many, many years.

Life Lessons From Class, Edition 5

Today, I learned two important things.

1. Everything is relative.
For instance, some things are better leased than bought.

2.  Google stores EVERY inquiry you have ever searched.  Forever.
If you google how to kill your husband, then erase your hard drive to rid the evidence, the FBI can still contact Google and Google will provide them with every search you've ever conducted.
Creepy, huh?

3. Equity fires=easy insurance fraud.
I learned that if you light dryer sheets on fire beside curtains (which must be by an outlet), your house will burn down due to what appears to be, at electrical fire.
How?
The dryer sheets disintegrate in the fire, leaving no plausible explanation for the fire.
Because it will have started by the outlets, they will assume it was an electrical fire.

*I am not encouraging you to try this, or recommending you do this; I'm merely sharing information I learned in class.
If your house burns down and they can prove you read this, you will probably be arrested.

Graduation is Just Around the Corner

This quote summarizes how I feel right now:

“All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.”
— Anatole France

I'm not quite sure how I feel about being a grown-up, but I better figure it out soon because in 30 days, I will be a full fledged "Big-Girl."

By the way, if one more person asks me what I'm going to do when I graduate, I just might tell them to mind their own business scream.
Seriously though.

Prompt #12: Something you never get compliments on

I don't recall ever getting compliments on my arms or my ears.
But then again, I don't think I've given anyone compliments on their arms or their ears.

What a weird compliment..."You have really pretty ears."
Unless I'm in some really weird version of Little Red Riding Hood, I really don't think I'll ever hear that compliment. lol

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 10

Prompt #10: Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn't know

I need to let go of my former love, Marty Standish.

He was a hockey player for the Blazers.
I was in love with him.
I actually met him a few times and he even threw me a hockey puck one time (which symbolized his returned love for me).

The saddest day of my life was the day he got married.
He married a tall, dark haired woman--the opposite of me.

Soon after the marriage, he got traded to another state.

I need to move on and love again.  It's just so hard.

Although, Chris VandeVelde might just be the trick (a new player for the Baron's).

Note: Although most of this post was true, I may have over-exaggerated my emotions just a tad.
Or maybe I didn't--you'll never know ;)

Monday Lustday Series, Edition 9

Item #1:

"Letters to Juliet" on DVD.
I absolutely love this movie!

Item #2:

L.C.'s new book, because I just love her :)
I need this in hardback so it will match the rest of the books in the series (which I have).

On another note, I have once again been reminded that I have too much faith in people.
Some people just don't possess important traits like dignity, honesty, integrity, and motivation.
This proves to be one of my biggest annoyances.

Prompt 9: Someone you didn't want to let go, but just drifted

The only person I can think of is my friend Alyssa.
We used to hang out a lot during High School, but have drifted apart since.
Occasionally we'll see each other, but we never get to catch up.

For the most part, I'm close to all my old, good friends
(at least the ones who I want to keep close).

Look Mom, I'm An Artist!

Here's my Vignette--the dang Drawing project that has consumed my life for the past few weeks...

I'm actually kind of proud of it--it's pretty impressive considering the last time I had an art class was in the 5th grade...

BTW, I checked the Russell Stover's website again to see if they had gotten any more caramel pumpkins, but they weren't even on the website.
However, I did find caramel Santa's (which I didn't even know existed because stores don't sell them).

So, of course, I had to buy a few...

Technically, a box of 36...

Best $17 I ever spent...

My Visit to the City of Country Music

Over fall break, I went to Nashville to visit my friend, Erin.
I've been to Nashville twice before so this trip wasn't about sightseeing, it was just to have fun with Erin.

I didn't take a whole lot of pictures (I tend to slack off on picture taking these days), but we definitely had a lot of fun!

Here's a few pictures from the weekend:

We carved a LEGIT pumpkin

We went to her cousin, Laney's, show at the Storyteller Series.
Go check her music out--Laney Edwards--she's awesome!

Laney opened for Aaron Barker (the guy who wrote the Blue Bell Ice Cream jingle; Baby Blue; I Can Still Make Cheyenne; Easy Come Easy Go; Love Without End, Amen; and What About Now...just to name a few)

It was so cool to meet the man behind the music!

Overall, it was a great weekend and I'm so glad I got to see Erin!

Headlines

Have you ever seen Headlines on the Tonight Show?
I used to stay up late and watch it once a week.
People send in clips of misprints/stupid ads from magazines or newspapers and Jay Leno mocks them.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a funny headline. So naturally, I had to share.

Behold:

This was POOR sign placement but turned out to be quite funny.
Just wash your hands and that pregnancy will go right down the drain!! ha ha.  Everybody's doing it!

30 Posts of Truth, Edition 8

Prompt 8: Someone who made your life Hell, or treated you badly

I'm a firm believer in Eleanor Roosevelt's quote: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

With that being said, I have not allowed anyone to make my life Hell.
People may try to treat me badly or to make my life hard, but I don't let it get me down.

However, my Drawing teacher isn't making my life very easy right now...ha ha

On another note, I got my cap and gown today!! Yay!
One step closer to graduation!

As soon as I upload my pictures, I will post about my trip to Nashville.
Be excited.

Monday Lustday Series, Edition 8

Today, I have one simple request--a plea, if you will...

PLEASE get me these:

For real, buy me as many as you can find--I'll reimburse you no matter what the cost!

You can only find good chocolate covered caramels during Halloween, V-Day, and Easter times.

I bought Chickasha Walgreen's ENTIRE stash and Walmart (the store that's supposed to have everything) has nothing that compares.
I thought I could find them online through Russell Stover's website, but they're sold out!
I mean seriously, how can a chocolate store run out of the only good kind of chocolate at such a crucial time as Halloween??

It's a sin, I tell you!

There is no way I can make my three remaining caramels last until February...I'll die of caramel withdrawals!!

P.S. If you buy me any kind of chocolate that does not have caramel in it, I will not eat it.  Don't even try to trick me--I won't be laughing.  Every other kind of chocolate is NASTY!

P.S.S. Be looking for soon-to-come updates about my trip to Nashville and my next Truth post! That is, if I survive my dang Drawing projects that are consuming my life...

Fly, Fly Away

I will be leaving for Nashville in less that 24 hours.
I cannot wait to see Erin!

Due to this trip, I will be taking a leave of absence from my blog until at least Sunday.

Hope you have a great Fall Break!
Don't do anything I wouldn't do ;)

Prompt #7: Someone who has made your life worth living

I know today is Monday, so I should be posting my Monday Lustday post, but I honestly have nothing I want today--my life is pretty great. So, instead, I'm posting another truth.

This question was a pretty easy one--the answer came to me right away.
The person who has made my life worth living for is my best friend, she has known me for 21 years, but she prayed for me long before that.
In case you haven't figured it out, my mom is the person who has made my life worth living.

Most people can't wait to get away from their mother, but I am the polar opposite; over the years, we have only grown closer.  She is my best friend, my confidant, my advice giver, and my role model.

Prompt #6: something you hope you never have to do

I hope I never have to lose a loved one.
I want everyone I know and love to die AFTER me.

I've already lost three people who were close to me, and that was enough pain for a lifetime.

I especially don't want to lose one of my future children--if one of my kids were to die, you better kill me as well.
I really don't know how people handle it; I know I couldn't...

Prompt #5: something you hope to do in your life

I hope to WILL travel during my life.
I want to see anything and everything there is to see!

On another note, I have finished watching 101 episodes of The Office! Only 29 more to go :)
I feel so accomplished!

Prompt #4: Something you need to forgive someone for

Hmm...I'm not going to forgive anybody unless they are genuinely sorry and ask for my forgiveness.
But, if I have to list one person, then I'll say that I need to forgive my grandma for how she treated me.

When my parents split, my grandma told me I was worthless and would never amount to anything.
Later that year, she got really sick and was in the hospital, so my mom forced me to go see her.
When I walked into her room, she looked at me and said "Who are you?"
I know, without a doubt, that she hadn't forgotten me already.
She didn't want me in her life; at that point I was only a memory to her--she would rather just forget me.

This was 6 years ago, and I'm still upset by it.
If she were to die tomorrow, the last place you would find me would be at her funeral.

Life Lessons From Class, Edition 4

1. Make your significant other sign a prenuptial agreement.
I am completely against this-why get married if you think it will fail??

2.  Don't drink and sign.
In other words, don't get drunk and sign any form of document (i.e. a marriage certificate)

3.  Don't tell you wife what your dependent benefits are or what you gave her in your will, because she will kill you (literally--she'll want the money).

Oh the things my teacher says...lol

Prompt 3:  Something you have to forgive yourself for.

This is a really hard question to answer...

I would have to say that the thing I need to forgive myself for is not being there for my brother last year when he got hurt.  I had gone to Texas to visit some friends and was having fun, when he got injured and went to the hospital. It broke my heart when mom called me and told me.  I literally cried the entire way home.  I got home that night and did everything I could to cheer him up, but I just felt so bad that I wasn't there when it happened--not that I could have done anything to prevent the injury, but I could have at least been by his side at the hospital.

It broke my heart even more when, during my 8 hour heart surgery, he sat in the waiting room the entire time and was by my side when I woke up...

Prompt #2: Something You Love About Yourself

If I had answered this question two days ago, I probably would have said I loved that I'm never afraid to share my opinion.  I have an opinion on everything--if you want to hear it, just ask.

However, after last night I thought of something different that I loved about myself.
I love that I'm willing to make a fool out of myself to have fun.
Last night, I went the Barons' Opening Night (which if you read my blog, you knew that); while there, one of the Ice Girls (which, on another note, I'm really upset that I an not an Ice Girl) came up to me and asked me to play a game after the first period.  I briefly thought about saying no--I didn't really care about winning the $100, but I decided to play.  So, after the first period ended, I made Cameron go with me down to the ice--he actually ended up playing a different game on the ice right before I did mine--and I was put on the big screen and instructed to get all the toilet paper off a roll by mummifying myself within 60 seconds.
See Below:

If you know me at all, you are well aware of the fact that I am not the most graceful person on Earth, nor do I have balance.  You can imagine what happened next...that's right, I busted my butt on the big screen, in front of thousands of people.

This is a picture RIGHT after I busted it--notice the Ice Girl on my left is bent over laughing her butt off:

Needless to say, I didn't get all the toilet paper off the roll, so I didn't win $100.  However, they did give me a consolation prize that was better than the $100; it proved to be worth my embarrassment!

It ended up being a great night, and an excellent game.
It only took me 21 years to have the most embarrassing moment of my life.
At this rate, I should have my happiest moment by the time I'm 40.
